Artist
ANTON STAYKOV was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 22 June 1962.
In 1983, he entered the National Academy of the Arts in Sofia, graduating in
1989. That same year he moved to Israel, where he worked and lived till 2003.
In this period he travelled extensively through Europe and North America, which
allowed him the opportunity to visit a wide selection of museums. A member of
the Israeli and the Bulgarian unions of artists, he has participated in many of
their exhibitions.
The art of Anton Staykov comprises paintings, sculptures and installations in
different places. All the one-man shows of the artist are devoted to different
subject-themes and are executed using different techniques – installation,
relief, abstract painting, impressionist landscape.
Anton Staykov has participated in group exhibitions of the artist unions of
Sofia and of Israel in places that include Sofia, Tel Aviv (Efrat, Bineth,
Arsuf, Gallery 30), and Art in Focus in New Jersey.
His painting can be found in the National Art Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria; in
Sofia City Art Gallery, Bulgaria; in the City Gallery in Smolyan, Bulgaria; and
in private collections in Austria, Belgium, Israel, the USA and more.
